Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents, Winona Ryder's parents, named her for her hometown. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's parents also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. The actress is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sibling is Uria. Ryder's parents moved her along with her siblings in Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. The family was in a house that didn't have electric power. Television books were the only way for Ryder for her time, and she became an avid reader. Ryder began to take acting classes in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged twelve years old. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986, when she was 15 years old. Ryder was subject to bullying in high school. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress would help. Sadly that didn't happen. She continued to pursue her dreams. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big break. Ryder played successful roles for several films. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
